The rabbit and the carrot were best friends. One day they were walking along when a car lost control, jumped the curb, and ran over the carrot. The rabbit yelled for help, people gathered,
finally an ambulance came and took the carrot to the hospital. The rabbit rode in the ambulance to the emergency room where the carrot was taken to surgery. The rabbit spent the
next few hours pacing, smoking, wringing his hands, and crying. Finally the doctor came out to talk to the rabbit.
Doctor: I have good news and bad news.
Rabbit: I can’t handle bad news, give me the good news first.
Doctor: Your friend survived the surgery.
Rabbit: What’s the bad news.
Doctor: He’s going to be a vegetable for the rest of his life.
