Genetic engineering ours

Genetic engineering ours

Not too long ago a tomato grew on a shrub – hm, there are things, right? Well. This tomato was called Edeltraud. Tomatoes have names, believe me. At this point, I would now like to explain how Edeltraud looked like this, the emotional world will come later. Edeltraud looked like tomatoes just look like it was pretty red, more or less round and had a green stem. Nothing out of the ordinary, one would say. The extraordinary thing about this tomato was that it was small. Not just small, but even puny or ridiculously small. The other tomatoes on the perennial found that and teased poor Edeltraud. Some called them “dwarfi”, others a little more limited tomatoes that could not distinguish intellect and height, they were simply called “stupid”. She was not that stupid for a tomato, God knows how wise is none of them. Edeltraud was just very hurt by the other tomatoes. She was not young anymore, so the hope for a growth spurt was very low. She visibly segregated herself from the other tomatoes and locked herself in her apartment quite often. But it was pretty boring there all alone. For what can a tomato already do? She read quite a few books and played Mill against herself. That was even more boring than it sounds. After a few days, she first turned on the computer she had bought a few weeks ago. This purchase was purely from peer pressure, if she was the smallest tomato, then at least she did not want to be the only one without a computer.
But now she wanted to try it once. After a few minutes she had already made it: The power button was found. But the next step was much more difficult: What did she actually want to do? Maybe write a book? No, she was pretty bad at spelling, could not even write her own name. She always wrote it like this: Ahtteldrahudd. So that’s probably not the idea with the book. Internet – what was that fast? She had heard something of that once. Oh yes, this new stuff, where you can find everything. That’s what she wanted to try. After a short while she was already inside. Hm, what are you looking for? She first entered “Little Tomato”. She wanted to know if there were any other plants as poor as she had left to talk to. In fact, she found some with whom she chatted a bit, but those tomatoes were so confused by Edeltraud’s spelling that they usually ended the conversation quickly. Edeltraud then found something very interesting on the subject of “small tomato”: “Are there only small tomatoes on your perennials? Genetic engineering is the solution to this problem!”
GM TECHNOLOGY – what a strange word Edeltraud had never heard of before. But she found it very worthwhile, so she learned more about it.
Over time, she came to the conclusion that genetic engineering must be God, of which the farmer had talked more often. She found that genetic engineering could make small tomatoes big and beautiful. The farmer can not do that, which she had always admired so far.
Edeltraud also soon discovered how to make God come to her, just go to the website of a company that sold genetically engineered fertilizer. There she chose the best product and clicked on the button “BUY”. Now the Messiah was already on her way to her. From now on, she prayed to her god every day. She wrote him many songs such as “Gloria in excelsis Genetic Engineering” and more prayers. The most successful of these were “Genetic Engineering Our” and “Hail Genetic Engineering”. Now Edeltraud also had to position himself better on the perennial. If she used to spend more time in the background not to be seen, she had to step into the foreground now to get the most from the sacrament of fertilization. The other tomatoes already noticed that something was wrong with Edeltraud, this spirit of optimism and this cheerfulness did not suit her. But they thought: Will not it be bad, maybe she ran her head somewhere and it was a bit confused.
Edeltraud was already very nervous, every day she almost jumped on the postman and asked if he had something for her, but he denied daily. The little tomato could not have guessed that this genetic engineering – her god – was delivered with the parcel service.
One day, the sky suddenly darkened. Edeltraud looked up and saw a giant that was probably a prophet. In his hand, this prophet held a huge box, so she knew: The Savior has risen! Suddenly the Prophet stumbled and the holy box containing the Messiah slipped away. She fell to the ground and crushed all the tomatoes.
