A woman gets arrested for shoplifting. In court, she stands before the judge with her husband in attendance in the audience.
The judge asks “what did you take?
The lady replies “A can of peaches.”
The judge, trying to decide a suitable punishment asks, “How many peaches were in the can?”
The lady says “six.”
The judge says “Ok. Then, I sentence you to six days in jail, one day for each peach.”
Just before the judge smacked his gavel down to make it final, the woman’s husband stood up
and said, “your Honour, wait! …She also stole a can of peas!”
